— Process & Standards

Methodology

London, 2026. A record of how ingredients are identified, suppliers assessed, lots verified, and entries published in the Grolan catalogue. Revision 07-A.

— 01   Documentation Process

From Ingredient Identification to Catalogue Entry

Each entry in the Grolan catalogue follows a fixed sequence of documentation, verification, and editorial review before publication. No step is skipped; each stage leaves a traceable record.

01
Identification

Ingredient Identification & Initial Assessment

Each ingredient considered for cataloguing is first assessed against published nutritional research. For natural supplements for men, the assessment focuses on compositional role within energy and endurance complexes, immune support, and men’s health support formulations. For skincare ingredients, compositional function within anti-aging cream, collagen and hyaluronic acid formulations, and moisturising formulas is reviewed.

Ingredients are assessed solely on the basis of published nutritional science. No promotional literature from manufacturers is used at this stage. The initial assessment log is archived with a date stamp and the reference source identifier.

02
Supplier

Supplier Selection & Documentation Request

Sourcing prioritises suppliers whose facilities maintain food-grade processing standards, with each batch accompanied by a chain-of-custody record from origin through to final composition. The catalogue operates with a regional supplier map covering Central Europe, the UK, Scandinavia, and select East Asian origin markets for botanical extracts.

At the supplier selection stage, a formal documentation request is issued. Required documents include: certificate of composition (current issue), country of origin declaration, processing facility standard confirmation, and chain-of-custody log reference. Suppliers who cannot provide all four are not listed in the catalogue until the outstanding document is received and archived.

03
Verification

Independent Batch Verification

Ingredient profiles in Grolan supplements are selected based on published nutritional research and undergo independent batch verification for quality and labelling accuracy. Batch verification is conducted by an independent laboratory, not affiliated with the supplier. The laboratory analysis reference is recorded in the lot record entry alongside the batch code and production date.

For skincare ingredients such as collagen complex, hyaluronic acid, and hydrating formula actives, the independent verification covers elemental concentration, batch-to-batch consistency indicators, and labelling accuracy relative to the certificate of composition. The completed verification report is the precondition for publishing the entry. No entry is published on the basis of a supplier’s own analysis alone.

04
Drafting

Catalogue Entry Drafting

The catalogue entry is drafted by a qualified nutrition professional using the supplier certificate, the independent laboratory analysis reference, and the published nutritional research log assembled in step one. The draft describes ingredient composition, origin, processing standard, serving composition in context, and relevant published nutritional data.

Drafts do not include outcome claims, performance assertions, or promotional language of any kind. Entries record what is in the formulation, where it came from, and how it was verified — consistent with the catalogue’s editorial standards for natural supplements for men, vitamins, and skincare ingredient documentation since 2019.

05
Review

Editorial Review & Revision Numbering

Before publication, each draft entry is reviewed by a second member of the Grolan team — either the sourcing and verification analyst or the skincare formulation reviewer, depending on catalogue category. The reviewer checks that all source documents are archived, the batch code matches the lot record, and no promotional language has been introduced in the drafting stage.

Approved entries are assigned a revision number (e.g., revision 01-A) and a publication date. When new compositional analysis data becomes available from the supplier or the independent laboratory, the entry is updated, the revision number is incremented, and the update date is recorded. Archive entries carry full revision histories.

06
Publication

Publication & Ongoing Lot Record Maintenance

Published entries in the Grolan catalogue are maintained as living records. When a supplier changes a formulation, updates a certificate of composition, or when a new independent batch verification report becomes available, the catalogue entry is flagged for update. The lot record associated with each catalogue entry is updated within 30 days of receiving new documentation.

All lot records are archived in sequence. The catalogue metadata for each entry shows: first publication date, most recent revision date, revision number, and document type references for the three primary source documents (certificate of composition, independent laboratory analysis reference, published nutritional research citation). This is the standard maintained across all 200+ documented entries.

— 02   Editorial Standards

The Standards Behind Every Entry

Certificate of Composition Required

No entry is published without a current supplier certificate of composition. The document is the primary reference for all compositional claims in the catalogue record.

Independent Laboratory Reference

Each batch is referenced against an independent laboratory analysis, separate from the supplier’s own testing. Active ingredients are documented against the independently verified compositional record.

Chain-of-Custody Documentation

Sourcing documentation traces each ingredient batch from production facility through to final composition. Active ingredients are sourced from documented suppliers, with each batch accompanied by a chain-of-custody record.

Declared Origin Required

Country of origin is declared and recorded for every ingredient. For named-region botanical materials — including plant extracts for anti-aging and men’s health support formulations — the origin declaration includes the specific regional source.

No Promotional Content

Catalogue entries do not include outcome claims, performance assertions, or promotional language. The record describes composition, origin, and verification status — nothing beyond what the documentation supports.

Full Revision History

Every catalogue entry carries a revision number and publication date. When compositional data is updated, the entry revision is incremented and the archive record is maintained. No revision overwrites the prior record.

— 05   Methodology Questions

Frequently Asked About the Process

Lot records are updated when new compositional analysis data becomes available from the supplier or the independent laboratory. For most ingredients, this is on a per-batch basis. All entries carry a revision number, and the most recent revision date is visible in the catalogue metadata. The full archive of prior revisions is retained but not publicly displayed.

Catalogue entries draw on three source types: the supplier certificate of composition (primary document), an independent laboratory analysis reference (batch-specific), and published nutritional research (contextual background). No data is taken from manufacturer promotional materials. The published nutritional research citation is listed with each entry.

No. The Grolan catalogue records ingredient composition, sourcing origin, and verification status. Entries do not include outcome claims, performance assertions, or any form of promotional language. Where nutritional science describes a documented role for an ingredient — for example, that zinc contributes to normal cognitive function and immune health — this is noted with the published reference, not as a product claim.

The same six-step documentation process applies to both categories. However, verification parameters differ. For skincare ingredients such as collagen complex and hyaluronic acid formulations, the independent laboratory reference covers molecular weight profile and texture verification in addition to elemental concentration. The editorial review for skincare entries is assigned to the skincare formulation reviewer rather than the nutrition specialist lead.

A supplier is added only when four documents are received and archived: the certificate of composition (current issue), a country of origin declaration, processing facility standard confirmation, and a chain-of-custody log reference. Suppliers who cannot provide all four are not listed until the outstanding document is received. Once listed, the supplier undergoes annual documentation review.

The catalogue is an informational record intended for reference use. We recommend speaking with a qualified wellness or nutrition professional before introducing any supplement to your daily routine, particularly if you have specific dietary requirements. Grolan products are nutritional food-supplements registered with the applicable local regulatory authority under food-supplement classification.
